Bushey Hall Golf Club Social Events
Throughout 2008.
Quiz Night
24th October 7.30pm with a Fish and Chip Supper at £7.50 per person.
Race Night
21st November 7.30pm, in aid of the Men's Section. Buy a horse for £5.00. Prizes for all winning owners.
Annual Dinner Dance
Saturday 6th December 7.00pm at The Metropolitan Police Social Club“Ballroom”. Three Course Silver Service Meal, Dancing to the John Parry All Stars Band and Bumper Raffle. Carriages at 1 am.
The Seniors Open
The Seniors Open was a great success. Entries were a full house, with visitors from more than thirty different clubs and the weather was kind. The winner of a £100 John Lewis voucher was Mr M. Brimicombe, with 39 Stableford points, playing off 8 handicap Many compliments were received about the state of the course and the excellent hospitality. A Honda car was on offer for a hole-in-one. Unfortunately this was not achieved, but Mr John Dillon had a very near miss and received a break for two at the Flemings Mayfair Hotel. There were loads of other prizes and we have already received requests for details of next year's event.
Lady Captain’s Day 2008
Saturday 14th June
This year’s Lady Captain’s Day was a huge success. Twenty-four teams of members and visitors took part in the golf competition, Bushey Hall Golf Challenge, raffle and various evening games and quizzes to raise a fantastic £3,416.23 for Cancer Research UK.
The golf competition was stableford format played off 7/8 handicap. Congratulations to the winners:

Everyone enjoyed the day, and two men golfers in particular really got into the spirit of the day by dressing as ladies. We’ve been having nightmares ever since…
In the evening one of the Lady Captain’s bands, The Unknowns, played two rock and roll sets, which kept everyone dancing until the end of the night. They also contributed to the fundraising by selling copies of their CD for £2 and donating all the proceeds to the Cancer Research UK fund.

Hertsmere Leisure donated a Family Leisure Card for use at Bushey Grove Leisure Centre, opposite Bushey Hall Golf Club.
Flowers and two winning bouquet were supplied by The Two Bees Florists
For a hole-in-one Renault Watford provided a car, golf clubs and a holiday to Portugal. Unfortunately no one won this time!
The bottles of water available on the day will be provided by Costco.
Three personal cosmetic consultations and makeovers were provided by Boots the Chemist, Watford.
A round of golf and overnight stay at The Belfry was donated by Yourgolftravel.com
Play Great Golf provided £45 worth of vouchers for golfbidder.com, as well as some hats and 2 sets of Mac Wet golf gloves. They have also gave us a copy of the Confidence Caddie‘The Seven Secrets of a Highly Successful Golfer’, worth £67.

One of the Lady Captain's bands, Razzle Dazzle, donated a large bottle of whisky and a copy of their CD 'Everybody Razzle Dazzle'.
