Bushey Hall Seniors Section

 

1. Eligibility
To be a member of the Seniors Section BHGC members must be over 55 years of age and have paid the annual subscription of £12 to take part in the Seniors competitions.

2. Handicaps
New members will be allowed to play and must submit three cards, marked by a member with an official handicap, as quickly as possible. New members joining from another Club will be allowed to play in competitions straight away provided they are in possession of a current handicap certificate from their previous Club.
A player's current handicap is the one published on the latest BHGC handicap list.
To maintain a Club handicap, members must comply with the Club rules.
When playing in a competition, all cards MUST be returned even if they are nil returns.
Handicaps for Senior competitions will be as per CONGU recommendations, currently:
Stroke play - Singles - full handicaps.
Match play - Singles - full handicaps and the full difference between them.  Four-ball better ball - Lowest handicapper concedes strokes based on 3/4 of difference of full handicaps.

3. Competitions
A Seniors Stableford competition takes place every month on a weekday from February to November inclusive.
A Seniors Medal competition takes place every month on a weekday from April to October inclusive.
Summer and Winter Singles and Doubles match play competitions are played. Partners in the Doubles competitions are drawn from the hat to make players mix freely with other players in the section.

4. Inter club Senior matches (2007 – 11 Home and 11 Away)
These are friendly matches and selection is intended to allow as many Seniors as possible to take part. A team normally consists of 12 players.
They are open to male Seniors on the following basis:
Members are expected to wear a BHGC Senior's polo shirt (and jumper when cold) (Polo shirt and jumper are available to order from the Pro Shop.)
Members must stay for the meal after the match to which a jacket and tie is worn.
Members must be willing to play in an equal number of home matches as well as away ones.
The current cost per match is £12 home or away.

5. Seniors Annual General Meeting
An Annual General Meeting of Senior members is held in January of each year where the accounts for the Section are approved and the Committee for the following year elected.

6. Committee meetings
Committee meetings are held on a regular basis throughout the year to organize Competitions and Teams.
